I took the oppurtunity to present a preview of my current project ‘HOPE’ during the Cultuurfonds fashion stipend ceremony at the Stedelijk Museum on April 13th, 2018.

HOPE is a new project I am currently working on. Sometimes you come intuitively to a place in which you want to give shape to your feelings. After my last presentation My Paper Crown, in which the concept of attention was important to me, hope is the starting point for a serie of fashion, textile and visual art in which I explore, illuminate and shape the term 'hope'.

April 13th 2018 was a joyous day as I received the eight Cultuurfonds fashion stipend during a festive ceremony at the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam from Johan van Beem, deputy director of the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. In addition I received the well-known exchange trophy designed by Atelier Ted Noten from the hands of my predecessor, Ronald van der Kemp.

It was an honour to be rewarded the stipend, which symbolizes for me a new and important step in my career. This Cultuurfonds fashion stipend will allow me to deepen and strenghten my artistic principles.

Three looks from my Permanent State of Confusion collection are part of the exhibition ‘The World is Your Dressing Up Box’.
Exploring costume design, fashion design, millinery, jewellery and shoes, the exhibition transformed the gallery into a space where extravagant opulence is celebrated. The exhibition provides an interplay between the pieces that one can only stand back and admire and the ones that you can try on.
